Sharing & Growing Session: Nurturing Young Minds and Hearts

“Emotions are the first language of a child, understanding them is the first step towards learning.”

At Joeys, we believe in nurturing children—both intellectually and emotionally. Our recent Sharing & Growing session brought together two essential areas of development - Pre-Reading, Pre-Writing and Socio-Emotional domain.

The Pre-Reading & Pre-Writing session focused on building foundational skills such as phonological awareness, fine motor development, vocabulary building and print handling. Parents actively participated in interactive LSRW-based activities and were provided with strategies to support emergent reading and writing at home.

In the Socio-Emotional session, parents explored the emotional need of young children through reflection of interactive discussions and experiential activities. They learnt to recognize, validate and respond to their child’s feelings with empathy and understanding, helping to create safe, nurturing space for emotional expression.

The workshop concluded with a display of teaching aids and insightful conversations, leaving parents empowered to support both the hearts and minds of their little ones.
